1951

Born in Haarlem (NL). I absolved a fully technical education after which I started to work at Fokker Aircraft Company at Schiphol. The first few years at the laboratories for Bonding adhesives and paint technic. Then I changed to the standards department. I was member of international (ISO and AECMA) standardization committees for mechanical fastening systems and semi-products. I was also responsible for the co-ordination of the technical design manuals with our design partners in Ireland and Germany. After the bankruptcy of Fokker, I worked half a year as a project leader at Machine factory JARO in Alkmaar. Since 1997, I work at Kenteq, in the past the "Stichting Opleidingen Metaal". Here I am responsible for the development of assessments for Technical students in the Metal branch. For those who are interested in my personal situation: I'm married (1977) and we have one daughter (1986). With respect to photography: I am not specialized in one or two specific themes. I like to take pictures of almost everything I see. From people to technical matters and from Architecture to Nature. I hope you enjoy the photos on my site. Please feel free to contact me for whatever reason via the "Contact" link above.

1967

During my education I was infected with photography by a teacher. During a holiday and a Saturday's job, I raised the money to buy my first SLR. A Praktica Super TL. One by one I added several accessories to the camera. Tele and wide angle lenses, converters, flash, filters and off course a case. During this time, I mainly shoot black-white negative photo's. Many of these are still in my possession but the quality of the negatives is now highly questionable. One moment of carelessness however, ment that all my gear was stolen during a holiday in St. Goar (Germany).

Canon AE-1 Program

1981

A few years after the theft of my gear I bought an new camera. The, at that time, most popular Canon AE-1 program, together with a 50mm lens. I also extended this set. I added a Tokina AT-X 28 - 85mm and a Sunpak flash. During that time I took a lot of slides. Approximately 4500 are still in my possession. (Costs a lot of space!) Because of the actuality, I changed hobby and photography was only actual during my holidays.

Nikon Coolpix 995

2003

With the introduction of the digital camera, my old hobby became active again. I read a lot of magazines and tests and finally I decided to by my first digital camera. The Nikon Coolpix 995. A superb camera was that at that time. 3,34 megapixels and I was able to make nice quality pictures. Digital processing on the computer was not applicable than. This camera was still in use with my daughter until the year 2008 when she bought a complete Nikon D40 set.

Nikon Coolpix 8800

2005

Camera's developed and so did my requirements. I was taking more and more pictures and the Coolpix 995 could not fulfill my requirements anymore. Therefore I decided to look for a replacement. Again I did a lot of "homework" and again I found a Nikon bridge camera. The Coolpix 8800 with its 8 Mp and 10x optical zoom. I worked a lot with this camera but still I missed something. The posibilities of My old SLR.

Nikon D80 With Batterygrip MB-D80

2007

So, in 2007 I again did a lot of "homework" and again a Nikon was my favorite. Now the D80 with the 18 - 70mm kit objective. This lens was replaced by the Tamron 17 - 50 f2.8 and the Tamron 28 - 75 f2.8. I visit the Nikon Club Nederland forum regularly in order to share experience about all Nikon products. I also became a member of the Dutch Nikon Club.

2009

In July 2009 I took the step to change to the newer D90. The counter on zero again and learning to get used to this piece of technic.

2011

Well, the D90 and the Tamron 17-50 also changed their owner (see below) in February since I took the opportunity to start with a D7000. Added a Nikkkor 17 - 55 f/2.8 to it.

2012

Wow, I've bought a nice Nikon D800 with the MB-D12 power grip. The D7000 set will change owner to my daughter again.
